The starting point for "zeitobjekte" were photographs taken from a fixed position of people against the backdrop of a cityscape. The photos were then pasted on small acryl panels inside an aluminium framework.

A series of five pictures records a sequence of movements where the outlines of the people are connected by nylon filaments to build a net structure. Observation of city life provides inspiration for the entire work, which shows the city as something alive and in flux.

The resulting three-dimensional objects, formed out of lines, represent the space which can’t be observed in real life and yet is at the same time very familiar - the in-between space in which somebody moves during a certain period of time.

Starting with images from the city, the idea developed into an interactive installation, "update (zo2)", which confronts people with the resulting net-objects in real-time.

Before being shown in Lisbon, the project was part of several indoor exhibitions.

Considering the project’s background and where it was developed, it was an interesting challenge to bring the whole installation back into public space. In particular, it was interesting to place it where movement in the city has special significance - in an underground station.

The more spontaneous approach of the people when confronted with an art installation in this unexpected location generated a new, exciting experience.
